Fireworks….

There are very few positive things to say about Katy Perry. I found one…

Every morning I wake up (before I put on my make-up) to my phone’s alarm clock. This is no ordinary alarm clock. Its starts off by gradually increasing the volume to a randomly selected song. After about 10 seconds of playing the volume fades down and (we will call her) Delilah comes on. She says to me ,

“Good Morning! Dale, Its time to get ready for school (or church or work – depending on the day). Today is [Date]. It is [time]. The forecast is [forecast]. Today you have [my calendar events].”

Now, I don’t always allow Delilah to go on for the whole spill. I’m not sure if that’s out of courtesy to my sleeping roommates or the fact that I don’t want to hear how busy my day is going to be. Either way though, whether I hear my calendar at 6 AM or not, my day happens. I get up and tackle the days events.

Lets take my church assignment for example. This week I introduced some new things to the members. I created a new Facebook page (complete with discussion boards) and created an automatic way to to schedule an appointment with the bishopric. We also retrofitted the database with some changes for the new directory, made some calling changes, and introduced the new people from this semester to the bishopric.

With that being said. Some of this needed to be done (calling changes) and some of it probably wasn’t essential to the survival of the ward (automatic scheduling). There should also be noted a difference in complexity. Anybody can hop on Facebook and create a page for an organization. It really isn't hard.  Yet not every ward has a Facebook page or automatic scheduling. Conversely, just because other wards don’t do things the way I do them, doesn’t make them bad.

Here is where everything starts to make sense… hopefully

If the worst complaint that people have about me is that ‘he tries to hard’ or ‘goes overboard with everything,’ I’m ok with that. I’ll be proud to be thought of as a person that fights for what he believes in and tries to do the best in everything he does. I want to be known as a guy who won’t give up easily and has some ‘spark’ to his life. Its not about ability, its about effort. Give everything 100% all the time. Who cares if I don’t know how to build a custom website that would be better than Facebook and the scheduling site combined. I’m just going to DO WHAT I CAN DO, AND I’M GOING TO DO THE BEST WAY I KNOW HOW>>> NO REGRETS.

You don’t have to feel like a waste of space. Your original, cannot be replaced. If you only knew what the future holds. After a hurricane comes a rainbow.

Maybe you’re the reason why all the doors are closed. So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road. Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow. And when it’s time, you’ll know.

You just gotta ignite the light and let is shine. Just own the night like the 4th of July.

‘Cause baby you’re a firework. Come on, show’em what you’re worth. Make ‘em go, Oh! As you shoot across the sky!

Baby, You’re a firework. Come on , let your colors burst. Make ‘em go , Oh! You’re gonna leave ‘em falling down.

Enjoy…
